Ghosts of Glass

Some thoughts on reflective materials, ghosts and superstition.

I am not sure what it is about ghosts and reflective surfaces. Many of us have seen photo's of ghosts in windows, mirrors etc. Is it because it is not a true version of reality?

The mirror presents a 2 Dimensional image our eyes perceive in the third Dimension via stereoscopics. Some believe breaking a mirror can cause 7 years bad luck. Some believe mirrors are portals to the spirit world. Some believe they can be watched through mirrors. Some believe when someone dies, mirrors must be covered or the spirit becomes trapped. Some believe that seeing their reflection in a mirror where someone has recently died, they will also die. While others believe they can scry through mirrors. John Dee foretold of the plot to kill King James in 1605.

Glass is made from a variety of earthen materials, fired at 1000 to 1500 degrees Celsius or so. Windows add a layer between 3D reality and 3D reality where a sheet of glass can represent, or misrepresent an image. I find it very odd that spirits can show up within such a plane, but seems to be so common, as this appears to be the method of choice for spirit manifestation.

I am almost inclined to shoot through a sheet of glass fixed 1 to 2 feet in front of the camera lens to see what kind of images could be captured on location via overlay.
