THUNDER BAY REGION'S FRIGHTENINGLY INCREASING UFO PRESENCE: A Chronology

During pre-production of Northern Lights (A UFO Documentary) which covered the various UFO incidents in the Thunder Bay region; it was found that there were over 200 incidents going right back to 1914.

CREATION

The documentary showed and made mention of many of the top encounters, yet in creating the documentary, not all could be listed due to timing, and consideration of what would be considered engaging and entertaining.

UFO COLLECTIVE

Over the years I have collected many stories verbatim, and during research added them to a long list of UFO sightings from our area. During pre-production I also had many accounts of UFO phenomena sent through to my various internet pages, and have also met with quite a few people who gave testimony and recounted second-hand testimony. The culmination resulted in an excellent documentary, and a lengthy list I am just getting around to releasing following a great write up by Jon Thompson TVO Correspondent for Thunder Bay.

DECADE SPIKES

Unfortunately I did not have the data completely ready at the time of the article. Even to this day the chronological list is a work in progress which is in no way complete. You will find the 1970's had quite the pick up in sightings and then dropped off. Then as we hit the 2000's quite a spike has been seen, and looks to be increasing to present. It may be due to pop culture and people worrying less about making reports, but it also may be that these sightings really are increasing and people will not be vexed in silence about the phenomena any further.

NOT ALONE

It is my hope that the stigma attached to seeing UFO's will be reduced over time, as more and more people will stand up and stand out telling their stories of encounters in the region, and people would be more accepting of what others have seen. Often times there is no one to turn to and they are left alone to ponder these mystifying events. The releasing of the list - I would hope - should help others to realize they are not alone here, that there is a multitude of witnesses who have come before them and spoke up. Maybe this is a way of comparing your testimony with that of others on certain nights, which will help in verifying your claim.

CONTACT CONSENT

For those interested, yes I am still documenting cases and there are multiple ways to contact me, but am busy and won't get back to a lot of people. With that in mind, if you do send me your story, I take it that by reaching out to me and sending, it is your consent to add it to the list, but will not disclose your name, just the basics of the sightings as seen in the following list. So no worries there. Yet others have given consent to use their name and stories in documentary fashion, and that's cool of them to step up courageously and publicly to join the folks who already have shown that initiative, as this will hopefully lead to the eradication of the UFO stigma in time.

RESEARCH

You will find there is a lot of material found by internet search, I have included in the list from various websites, and I was sure to add them to a forward for their hard work and dedication. You will also find newspaper archives have been scoured for all information on the subject. You will find a number of undated/ no detail entries as well. And finally you will find stories sent in to me, and in person testimonies, along with secondary testimonies previously never heard before the documentary was produced, and never read about before this was list made.

RESULTING EFFORT

The result was a chronology of testimonies reaching back over 100 years, memorates and reports of minor and major encounters in our area. Much time and effort has been spent in organizing them by decade, but does show the reader information on flaps occurring around the same time, and spikes. So without further ado, here is the list and I hope you would enjoy reading and researching!
