GREY'S ANATOMY: The Curiosity of the ET Form

In thinking about the Aliens we've all seen in Sci-Fi movies, often referred to as the "Greys," I have been mulling over their appearance and why they look the way they do in their descriptions. The big black eyes, the grey skin, the thin bodies, and height. I have never seen such thing and this is only speculation, however I'd like to go over the possible reasons why they would have such a form. Why do they have to have a basic human form in the first place, why can't they be as far out of this world as the imagination would limit? That's all well and good, but they have to be made of something like matter, and have function, and based on witnesses describe. So let's further our ideas and dive in.

Let's start with the eyes. The eyes of these beings are said to be almond shaped, angled inward and black. I would think the reason for this shade has something to do with light intake. Perhaps their whole eye is one gigantic pupil, incapable of dilating like ours. They may come from a dark place, or dark planet where they must have adapted to low light conditions to see properly. Perhaps they live in an environment containing heavy smoke or gaseous clouds, far from the sun; or another sun is not as bright in their corner of existence. Maybe the reason for the almond shape is not just a genetic trait, but the cause is forced upon them through squinting and trying to see through heavy cloud over billions of years and widening their light intake and peripheral vision. I believe the beings also blink to keep their eyes moist and guard against dangers the same as we do. Some say it is merely a lens, it very much could be, only used to focus and keep the real eye clear of debris.

They Grey

They are said to have small noses, more like just a bump with nostrils. Used for breathing and filtering toxins from the air, it seems more of a necessity, while the sense of smell could be reduced in such a toxic or gaseous environment. The nose may not be prominent as a defining characteristic because maybe they have no need to look any different from the other. The use in having a nose would only serve as a holding place for a breathing tube.

They are said to have a small mouth which is only just a pocket. The need for a mouth seems to have been another genetic trait to be done away with over billions of years, as verbal communication is never used, and ESP abilities had become the norm. No need to express themselves by contorting the mouth into smiles or to reflect sadness. Also there appears to be no need to eat, at least not through the mouth, having no teeth or tongue, perhaps just a dry pocket with no salivary glands to break down food. The jaw may have become permanently fused over time with use being less and less and muscle being made completely obsolete. Perhaps they sustain themselves by eating through nose filtration or possibly absorption of light through the skin. The chin also being part of the original structure of the head and face, now there for no other reason than completion of the skull.

Ears? What is the use in having ears for such a species. It is said they have ear canals, no lobes or other defining features that the human ear has. Simply a canal. Perhaps the need to hear became as useless as electronic communication as these beings may come from a loud planet full or spewing gasses and eruptions. Maybe the canals lead into the skull for balance, or maybe to a dead eardrum covered by a thick material rather than a thin membrane like ours.

Why the big head? A large head on such a small body makes me think they are from a planet with far less gravity than ours. This serves the purpose of easy movement and brain expansion. Having a brain much larger than ours in size and capacity for thought, communication, motivation etc etc, they have apparently developed communication through thought process and mind reading. Perhaps they are a small population forced to communicate on a large planet over great distance, and the use of telepathy became highly expedient and the need for electronic communication was thought to be slow and cumbersome, needing equipment. Such a brain would need a strong material casing to keep it safe and having a skull as we have, works to their benefit and longevity as a species. This would mean having a skull would defend their brain from damage due to activities such as falls, work and war.

Why is the body so small? Load would be placed on the body if on a heavy gravitational planet, making the body a larger size, but as we hear, their bodies are very small, like children, having hardly any muscle mass. Hence the importance of a larger head is placed as priority than on the body itself.

Why grey skin? I would tend to lean toward a planet with no color, a smoky atmosphere, or one with toxic vapors. The skin color would be used to absorb as much light as possible and gain nutrients to survive via photosynthesis. They grey color of their skin would be the result of limited sun and blood vessels and capillaries carrying the neutrality of light to the sub-surface. The skin color also would help these beings stay well hidden in the gaseous atmosphere and rocky outcroppings of their planet, perhaps even underground or under a watery type substance. The skin is also said to be slightly scaly like a reptile, this makes me believe they are from a place where there is some seriously harsh conditions.

Arms, legs, feet and hands used for work and travel. However I have heard these beings having 4 fingers, who knows if this is true. If it is, only having four fingers for holding equipment would get them by, I would think having only three would be far less useful. It would also make sense that they would have the matching 4 toes.

Do aliens have sex? The only use for this would be for procreation. The need to continue the species, is either by way of genetic lab creation or they are such an old species, slowly degenerating and generating based on need with a massive lifespan. I have heard of them not having sexual organs, I have no idea if this is true or not. Nobody really knows. You would think such an advanced species would just wave their hand and a body would be created.

What would their bones be made of? I would think something light but strong. Perhaps their bones are not an organic material, but something more derived from a gas over billions of years, or from the earth and rocks of their planet, maybe even a form of what we would call aluminum. Or even something unknown to us; a native of their planet something even lighter than that. Whatever their bodies are made of they can be torn to pieces in a crash, and the weight of our planet seems to be a factor in their kinetic deaths.

It is said they only have one large organ in the chest cavity which basically does everything on a life sustaining level. From breathing all the way to digestion. Everything our body does but in one complicated organic machine.

This is just my theory on the ET body, so who knows....?
